It’s time to reassess the cosmetic cupboard. Not only am I looking at what is not being used in my collection of formulas and potions, but I am looking to simplify my cosmetic regime altogether. I think it’s also important to really consider the kinds of cosmetics that are better for our health and the environment. If you like to paint your nails, Butter LONDON ticks all the boxes. All their products are free from Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, phthalates and parabens (tick), they don’t test on animals or have anyone test of animals on their behalf (tick!) and they are vegan! (TICK!) This polish doesn’t disappoint either, it goes on thick and smooth and dries to a semi matte, pearlescent finish. This lacquer is now the only one I own, and don’t foresee buying any other shades apart from black, gold and aubergine to suit my pale skin (which are of course a part of my chosen colour palette). There are also plenty of simple painting techniques to make this small palette stretch (stay tuned)
