the bare necessities (v)

Makeup is a perfect example of when less is more. Here is a a super basic routine that will get you through the day, making the most of your natural features. And even better, all of these products are vegan and cruelty free.

Step 1: Mecca Cosmetica In A Good Light SPF30+ Tinted Moisturiser
Always get a tinted moisturiser that has a Sun Protection Factor (SPF). Use SPF30+ at least, especially in Australia, to ensure protection against sun damage. This step will also give your face more of an even complexion and lustre. This particular tinted moisturiser from Mecca Cosmetica is so light, you don’t need to apply it with a brush or sponge, just gently use your fingers et voilà.

Step 2: Hourglass ARCH BROW SCULPTING PENCIL
Never underestimate the importance of eyebrows, they are the most expressive feature on your face and frame your eyes. This brown pencil from Hourglass allows you to brush and draw with the same tool. The wind up pencil means no sharpening required. The perfect two in one.

Step 3: Inika Vegan Mineral Eyeshadow (Coco Motion)
Now to subtly define the eyes. Use a colour that’s slightly darker than your skin colour and apply a small amount to the contour and lash line. Another option is to highlight the lid with a neutral colour that has a shimmer to it, for a clean look. Use Hourglass Nº 9 DOMED SHADOW BRUSH to apply.

True to the minimalism definition, This makeup routine is an aesthetic that seeks to maximise effect through simplicity.
